Luxury Garden Design

Since 2006, we’ve been designing distinctive gardens and outdoor spaces for clients across the West Midlands and throughout the UK. With more than 20 years of hands-on design and landscaping experience, we understand that a successful garden needs to do more than look beautiful on paper. Every design is developed with the practicalities of construction, materials, levels, detailing and budget in mind, helping to create gardens that are both inspiring and realistic to build.

Over the years, we’ve worked alongside some of the UK’s most talented landscapers, specialist contractors and suppliers to bring our designs to life, creating award-winning gardens and outdoor spaces for our clients.

Today, that experience forms an important part of the LOL Garden Design process. Once your design is complete, we can help establish the likely build cost, introduce suitable landscaping professionals from our trusted network and remain involved throughout the project to help coordinate the process and protect the original design intent.

From the first idea through to the finished garden, our aim is simple: to create a garden that works beautifully for you and can be delivered successfully in the real world.

TELEPHONE CONSULTATION

TELEPHONE CONSULTATION

When you first contact us we will take your details and arrange for you to speak to our designer. We will ask you for a brief outline of your project and will provide you with advice. Following this meeting, we will email you with a quote for the design services required.

SITE SURVEY AND FACE TO FACE CONSULTATION

SITE SURVEY AND FACE TO FACE CONSULTATION

A site survey will be carried out to obtain the geometry and all the necessary measurements of the garden. At this point we will have already discussed the garden and basic design ideas over the phone. When we meet at your home we will be able to discuss these ideas in more depth.

GARDEN PLANS

GARDEN PLANS

After we have carried out a site survey and face-to-face consultation, we will begin to create your garden plans. Once we have completed the first draft of your master plan, we will discuss any changes to the design you would like to make. Once changes have been made and you are happy the design can be signed off.

FINAL PLANS

FINAL PLANS

Once the garden plans have been signed off, we will provide you with a landscaper pack based on your chosen design package. We will send you a link for you to download your pdf package. We are happy to arrange samples of the products used in your design concept should you require.

PLANTING PLANS

PLANTING PLANS

If planting is required we will share your plans with one of our trusted planting specialists. They will arrange a meeting with you to discuss your requirements and will provide you with a detailed planting plan.

FROM DESIGN TO REALITY

A great design is only the beginning. Once your garden design has been agreed, we can help take it from the drawing board through to construction, working with trusted landscaping professionals while remaining involved to protect the design and help the project run smoothly.

BILL OF QUANTITIES & BUDGET

BILL OF QUANTITIES & BUDGET

Once the final design has been approved, the next step is to establish a clear understanding of what the garden is likely to cost to build.

A detailed Bill of Quantities can be prepared from the completed design, breaking the project down into its key elements, quantities and specifications. This provides a much clearer basis for budgeting and allows the project to be reviewed before approaching contractors.

If necessary, we can work with you at this stage to adjust elements of the design or specification to bring the project in line with an appropriate budget.

CONTRACTOR SELECTION & SITE REVIEW

CONTRACTOR SELECTION & SITE REVIEW

Once you are comfortable with the design and anticipated budget, we can introduce suitable landscaping professionals from our network of trusted and approved contractors.

The selected contractor will visit the site, review the drawings, specifications and Bill of Quantities, and satisfy themselves that they can deliver the project before providing their final quotation.

The construction agreement is then made directly between you and your chosen contractor, keeping their responsibilities for the physical build clear.

PRE-CONSTRUCTION COORDINATION

PRE-CONSTRUCTION COORDINATION

Before work begins, we bring the design information, contractor and any relevant specialists together so everyone is working from the same plan.

This is the opportunity to clarify details, materials, levels, sequencing and any specialist requirements before construction starts – helping to resolve questions on paper rather than once the garden is already being built.

DESIGN & PROJECT COORDINATION

DESIGN & PROJECT COORDINATION

Our involvement doesn’t have to end when construction begins.

We can remain involved throughout the build, liaising with you, the contractor and specialist suppliers, attending at appropriate stages and helping resolve design questions as the garden develops.

Our role is to protect the original design intent and help keep everyone working towards the same finished garden, while the appointed contractor remains responsible for carrying out and managing the construction work.

We stay involved through the key stages of the project and towards final handover, helping make sure the garden you approved on paper is the garden you ultimately get to enjoy.

DESIGNED BEAUTIFULLY. BUILT REALISTICALLY

Our approach combines creative garden design with over 20 years of practical landscaping experience.

That means we don’t simply design a garden that looks beautiful on paper. We consider how it will actually be built, the materials and details involved, and the likely implications for your budget from the beginning.

Once the design is complete, we can then help you move confidently into the construction stage – from establishing quantities and costs to introducing suitable contractors and remaining involved throughout the build.

Our design and landscaping teams will ensure that you enjoy a dependable service from one coordinated provider, with a single point of contact and quality assured at every step. Wherever you’re located, whether it’s Solihull, Four Oaks, Sutton Coldfield or anywhere across the West Midlands, we can help.
